Florence Day will be held Saturday, November 14 this year, and we would love for your business to participate! Listed below are just a few of the ways you can be a part of our city’s special day. Mayor Pam Clark coordinates the events for the day, and if you have other ideas or suggestions, please feel free to contact her. Phone: 601-845-1749 Email: email@example.com
There will be a breakfast honoring our veterans the morning of Florence Day at Quest Community Church. It will begin at 8:00 and is open to everyone. Tickets are free, but you do need a ticket to attend. Tickets may be picked up at city hall and if you know a veteran, why not pick up a ticket and take it to him or her?
At the breakfast, door prizes are given out. If your business would like to donate something for a door prize, it would be greatly appreciated. The names of the businesses that contribute the prizes will be called out at the breakfast as well as listed in the program. Just drop your item by city hall or contact Paula Eure, our Parks Clerk at 601-845-5858, and we will have someone pick it up.
In the past, all food for the breakfast has been supplied by community businesses. We hope to have this be the case again this year. If your business would like to help with this, call Mrs. Eure at city hall 601-845-5858 and she will handle the arrangements.
This year’s event is going to be bigger and better than ever. In addition to the breakfast honoring our veterans, there will be games and activities for the kids, vendor booths, a talent stage, Florence Day pageant and more! A day of this magnitude requires lots of people as well as finances. If you would like to help by being a sponsor, you will be recognized in the publicity surrounding Florence Day. Also throughout the day at the talent stage, our sponsors will be called out regularly.
VENDORS, send in your VENDOR REGISTRATION FORM soon to be assured of a good spot. Spaces will be assigned in the order they are received. If your tent will not fit in a 12×12 space, you will be charged for two spaces. Funeral size tents are larger than 12×12. Tents need to be anchored in place in case of heavy winds.
You will receive confirmation that your payment has been received and a map of the numbered walking trail along with the number of your booth. Each booth spot along the trail is clearly marked for your convenience.
The vendors’ market will be Saturday between the hours of 8:00 and 4:00. You may set up any time after 4:00pm Friday, November 9 or beginning at 6:00 Saturday morning. Check-in will be at the Hemphill Park pavilion located close to the entrance of the park. There will be signs posted with names and booth numbers as well as workers to help locate your spot. NOTE: There will be no overnight security at the park.
Deadline to register is Friday, November 6 – After this date, there will be a $25.00 late fee. Late registration will be available until November 13 or until all booth spaces are taken.
Vendors will supply their own tables, tents, chairs, extension cords, etc. Generators will be allowed, but must be muffled to keep down unnecessary noise.
NOTE: We want to make sure all our guests have a safe environment in which to browse and shop. With that in mind, on Saturday, Florence Day, no vehicles will be allowed to drive into the vendor area before 4:00pm. If you choose to leave earlier, you will have to carry your tent and items out.
We look forward to seeing you Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Florence Day
